Have you heard of the anime series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? Maybe MM!? How about Azumanga Daioh? Lucky Star (bleh)? To be completely honest with you, I have only seen clips of one, watched the entirety of another, and am completely uninterested in one of these.

Ghost Stories (or 学校の怪談) is an anime that supposedly falls under the horror genre, as seen from the animation, making it a great choice to watch at midnight, with doors and curtains shut and lights off. However, its original Japanese dub just wasn't as, well, successful as its English dubbed version.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion, the one mecha anime that's technically not a mecha anime. It's more like psychological or, as some would say, a mindraep.
